Tomorri Mountain National Park, established in 1956 and expanded in 2019, encompasses 261.06 km² of rugged terrain in southern Albania. The park's centerpiece is Mount Tomorr, rising to 2,416 meters (7,926 ft) and visible from cities nationwide. Known as Albania's Mount Olympus, it holds a revered place in local folklore and religious tradition. The park's diverse ecosystems host a variety of flora and fauna. Forests of beech, pine, and hazel cover the slopes, while alpine meadows boast aromatic and medicinal plants. Wildlife includes wolves, foxes, wild boars, roe deer, and various bird species, including golden eagles. The park's geology features limestone rocks and karst formations, creating caves, creeks, and sinkholes. Natural monuments include Kapinova Cave, Katafiq Greenhouse, Tomorri Glacial Cirques and the Ujanik Glacial Moraines. Visitors can explore numerous hiking trails, ranging from easy to challenging. The climb to the summit of Mount Tomorr offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The mountain is also a pilgrimage site, with the Tomb of Abaz Aliu, a Bektashi shrine, located on one of its peaks. A large religious festival occurs each August, attracting both Bektashi and Christian worshippers. Other attractions include the Sotira Waterfalls, near the village of Gramsh, and the Osumi Canyon, one of Albania's largest canyons.
