Lëkurësi Castle, known locally as Kalaja e Lëkurësit, is perched on a commanding hill overlooking the town of Sarandë in southern Albania. This historic castle, built in 1537 by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent of the Ottoman Empire, was strategically positioned to control the harbor of Sarandë and the road to Butrint.
