Getting There

    From Pago Pago International Airport, a taxi to the village of Futiga, the access point for Fagatele Bay, will cost approximately $20-$30. From Futiga, follow the dirt road past the landfill, check in with the caretaker at the gate, and walk the remaining distance to the bay. Vehicle access beyond the gate is restricted.

    Local buses (aiga buses) travel from Fagatogo to Futiga. The fare is around $0.50 to $2.00. From Futiga, follow the dirt road past the landfill, check in with the caretaker at the gate, and walk the remaining distance to the bay. Be aware that buses do not run on Sundays.

    From the gate (after checking in with the caretaker), it is approximately a 2 km walk to the first educational sign and another 1.5 km to the bay. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
