Walking
From the main highway in Futiga, turn onto the dirt road leading past the landfill. Veer past the vegetable farm to a gate, where you'll check in with Mr. Asuemu Fuimaono, the caretaker of the family lands. Vehicle access beyond the gate is restricted, so you'll continue on foot. The walk from the gate to the first educational sign is approximately 2km, and another 1.5km to the bay. Remember to wear comfortable shoes for the 3.5km hike.
Taxi
From Pago Pago International Airport, a taxi to the village of Futiga, the access point for Fagatele Bay, will cost approximately $20-$30. From Futiga, follow the walking directions. Note that taxis may not be readily available for the return trip from Futiga, so arrange for a pick-up in advance or be prepared to walk back to the main road to find transportation.
