    Getting There

    Driving

From the town of Calandula, the falls are easily accessible by car. Follow the signs towards the Pousada de Calandula. A short distance before reaching the Pousada, there is a checkpoint where an entrance fee is collected. As of January 2022, the fee was 500 Kwanzas per person and 1000 Kwanzas per vehicle. The road to the Pousada is in poor condition in some sections.

    Walking

Once at the Pousada de Calandula, walking trails lead to various viewpoints of the falls. Some trails lead to the top of the falls, while others descend closer to the base. Be aware that the trails can be muddy, especially during the rainy season. Local guides may offer their services to accompany you on these trails; negotiate the price beforehand.

    Local tips

Visit during the rainy season (November to April) for the most dramatic water flow, but be prepared for muddy conditions.
Consider visiting both viewpoints: the free one near Calandula and the one at Pousada de Calandula (with an entrance fee).
Engage a local guide for a more in-depth experience, but negotiate the price beforehand.
