Take Route 40 south for approximately 60 km until you reach the junction with Route 234 in the direction of Huahum Pass. Follow Route 234 for about 20 km until you reach the border with Chile. Note that there may be a small fee for crossing the border, so have some Chilean pesos ready. Once you cross into Chile, continue on Route 203 for about 35 km until you reach Curarrehue. From Curarrehue, follow the signs to Sendero Lagos Andinos, which is approximately 10 km away. The road may be unpaved, so proceed with caution.

  • Bus

    For those opting for public transportation, take a bus from San Martín de los Andes to Temuco, Chile. The journey takes about 7 hours. Once in Temuco, you can catch a local bus to Curarrehue. The bus ride to Curarrehue takes approximately 2 hours. Be aware that bus schedules may vary, so check in advance for the latest times. After arriving in Curarrehue, you can take a taxi or a local shared transport to reach Sendero Lagos Andinos, which is about 10 km away.
