Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Ushuaia, take a bus from the intersection of Fadul and Maipú streets in the city center. Several bus companies offer regular services to the park, with departures approximately every hour. A round-trip ticket costs around $500 ARS. The bus makes several stops within the park, including the park entrance, the End of the World Train station, Ensenada Zaratiegui, the Alakush Visitor Center, Lago Acigami, and Lapataia Bay. Be sure to check the return schedule to ensure you don't miss the last bus back to Ushuaia.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are available in Ushuaia and can be hired for a day trip to Tierra del Fuego National Park. Hiring a taxi for the day is recommended, as finding a taxi within the park for the return trip to Ushuaia is difficult. A full-day hire will allow the driver to take you to different attractions and trailheads within the park and wait for you. Expect to pay between $8,000 and $12,000 ARS for a full-day taxi service, depending on the duration and destinations within the park.

    If driving from Ushuaia, take National Route 3 west for approximately 12 km. The park entrance is located directly off the highway. Note that the maximum speed limit within the park is 40 km/h. Parking is available at the park entrance, Río Pipo, Ensenada Zaratiegui, Alakush Visitor Center, Lago Acigami, and Lapataia Bay. Be aware that in winter, snow chains or winter tires may be required. The entrance fee to the park is approximately 40,000 ARS for foreign adults.

Tierra del Fuego National Park, established in 1960, protects 68,909 hectares of Argentina's southernmost reaches, where the Andes Mountains collide with the sea.
