Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, you can reach Patagonia National Park by taking Route 40, which is a scenic highway running along the Andes. From El Chaltén, head south on Route 40 for approximately 90 kilometers until you reach the park entrance near the town of La Leona. There is no entrance fee required for vehicles. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition, as some stretches may be unpaved.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Patagonia National Park using public transport, start by taking a bus from El Calafate to El Chaltén. Several bus companies operate this route, and the journey takes about 3 hours. Once in El Chaltén, you can take a taxi or local shuttle to the park's entrance, which is about 30 kilometers away. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may vary seasonally.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  For a more direct route from El Chaltén to Patagonia National Park, consider hiring a taxi or using a rideshare service. This option will give you flexibility in your schedule and allow you to explore specific areas within the park. Expect to pay around ARS 2,500 to ARS 3,500 for a one-way trip, depending on the distance and time of day.

• Hiking
