Getting There

  If you are driving, start from Cochrane, Aysén. Head southwest on Route 7 (Carretera Austral) for approximately 30 kilometers. Watch for the sign to Valle Chacabuco. Turn onto the access road at the sign, and continue for about 15 kilometers until you reach the Lodge at Valle Chacabuco. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for gravel roads, as parts of this route may be unpaved.

• Public Transportation

  To reach the Lodge by public transport, take a bus from Cochrane heading towards Puerto Tranquilo. The bus companies offering this route include Buses Patagonia and Buses Sur. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to get off at Valle Chacabuco. The bus ride takes approximately 1 hour and costs around CLP 5,000. From the drop-off point, it is a 15-kilometer walk to the Lodge. Consider hiring a local taxi or arranging a pick-up in advance for this segment, as it may be challenging to find transport directly.

• Taxi or Ride-Sharing

  For a more comfortable option, consider hiring a taxi from Cochrane. This will give you direct access to the Lodge without the hassle of public transport. The taxi fare will vary, but expect to pay around CLP 30,000 to CLP 50,000 for the trip, taking approximately 45 minutes. It is advisable to arrange this service in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons.
