Walking
If you are near the Tempe Town Lake, start at the north shore near the Tempe Beach Park. Walk southwest along the lake's edge towards the Arizona Canal. The canal begins just south of the lake. Follow the path along the canal; you'll see the beautiful Arizona Canal on your right. Continue walking for about 15 minutes, and you'll reach the main area of the canal, where you can enjoy scenic views and some benches to relax.

Rent a bike from one of the many bike rental stations around Tempe. If you're starting from the ASU campus, head south towards Tempe Town Lake. Once at the lake, follow the bike path west along the shoreline. When you reach the intersection with the Arizona Canal, turn left. Take the Valley Metro Light Rail from any station in Tempe. If you are near the ASU campus, board the light rail at the ASU station heading towards Mesa. Get off at the 'Tempe Town Lake' stop.
