The final approach to Plateau Point is a challenging 12-mile roundtrip hike from the Bright Angel Trailhead. From the trailhead near the Kolb Studio on the South Rim, follow the well-marked Bright Angel Trail down into the canyon. After descending approximately 4.5 miles to Indian Garden, continue west on the Plateau Point Trail for another 1.5 miles to reach the overlook. Note that a park entrance fee is required ($35 per vehicle for 7 days).

To reach the Bright Angel Trailhead using the Grand Canyon's free shuttle system, park at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center or Market Plaza and take the Blue Route shuttle to the Bright Angel Lodge. From the lodge, the trailhead is a short walk away. The park entrance fee ($35 per vehicle for 7 days) covers shuttle access.
