    Getting There

    Walking

    From the Bright Angel Lodge in Grand Canyon Village, head east towards the Bright Angel Trailhead. You will see signs directing you to the trail. Once at the trailhead, begin your hike down the Bright Angel Trail. The trail is well-marked and maintained, and it is approximately 4.5 miles (7.2 km) to Havasupai Gardens Campground. Make sure to take breaks as needed, as the trail can be steep in places. Along the way, enjoy the stunning views of the canyon. Upon reaching Havasupai Gardens, you will find the campground area clearly marked.

    If you are starting from the Visitor Center, exit the center and walk towards the main road leading to the Bright Angel Trailhead. Follow the signs for the Bright Angel Trail, which is located just a short distance from the Visitor Center. Once you reach the trailhead, follow the same instructions as above to hike to Havasupai Gardens Campground.

    If you are near the Mather Point viewpoint, head back towards the Visitor Center and then proceed to the Bright Angel Trailhead as described above. The distance from Mather Point to the trailhead is about 0.5 miles (0.8 km), and you will have a pleasant walk along the rim before descending into the canyon.
