To reach the Phoenix Mountains Preserve from Mesa, take the Valley Metro bus route 1 from the Mesa Transportation Center. Ride the bus towards the direction of Phoenix and disembark at the '18th St & McDowell Rd' stop. From there, transfer to bus route 50 heading towards 'Piestewa Peak'. Get off at the stop 'Piestewa Peak Dr & 24th St'. Walk north on 24th St for about 0.5 miles until you reach the entrance of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve at 2701 Piestewa Peak Dr.

You can bike from Mesa to the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. Start by heading northwest on the Arizona Canal Path from downtown Mesa. Follow the path until you reach the connection to the Piestewa Peak area. Continue on the path, which will lead you towards Piestewa Peak Dr. The preserve entrance will be at 2701 Piestewa Peak Dr. Ensure you have a bicycle helmet and follow local biking rules.
