Public Transit - Light Rail
If you're starting from downtown Phoenix, walk to the nearest light rail station, which is typically the 'Central Ave./Van Buren' station. Board the Valley Metro Light Rail headed towards 'Mesa'. Stay on the train for about 10 minutes and get off at the 'Capitol/19th Ave.' station. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the Arizona Capitol Museum at 1700 W Washington St. Head west on W Jefferson St, then turn left onto N 17th Ave, and finally turn right onto W Washington St.
Public Transit - Bus
If you're near a bus stop in downtown Phoenix, you can take the Valley Metro bus route 1, which travels along Central Ave. Board the bus heading towards 'Glendale' and get off at the 'Washington St & 17th Ave' stop. From there, you can walk about 2 minutes to the Arizona Capitol Museum. Simply head west on W Washington St, and you will see the museum on your left.
Walking from Nearby Attractions
If you're visiting the Arizona Science Center or the Children's Museum of Phoenix, both of which are located in downtown, you can walk to the Arizona Capitol Museum. From the Arizona Science Center, head northwest on E Washington St toward N 7th Ave. Continue on Washington St for about 1 mile. The museum will be on your right at 1700 W Washington St. The walk will take approximately 20-25 minutes.
Bike Share
If you prefer biking, you can use one of the bike-sharing services available in Phoenix. Locate the nearest bike station, rent a bike, and head towards the Arizona Capitol Museum. From downtown, take E Jefferson St heading west, then turn left onto N 17th Ave, and finally turn right onto W Washington St. The museum will be on your right. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes depending on your pace.
