Falcon's Nest is a distinctive and towering residence located in Prescott, Arizona. Known as the tallest single-family home in North America, this unique structure rises 124 feet (38 meters) and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Designed by Phoenix architect Sukumar Pal and constructed in 1994, the home spans ten stories and covers 6,200 square feet (580 square meters).The home's name, Falcon's Nest, is inspired by its resemblance to a mountainside bird's nest and the peregrine falcons that inhabit the area. The location on the slopes of Thumb Butte, a prominent landmark in the Sierra Prieta mountain range, provides stunning views stretching up to 120 miles, including the San Francisco Peaks, Humphrey's Peak, and Bill Williams Mountain.The interior features three bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a 2,000-square-foot solarium with glass ceilings and walls. The solarium serves as the main living area, incorporating the kitchen, living room, and dining area. A hydraulic elevator provides access from the ground level to the sixth floor, with stairs leading to the remaining levels.Falcon's Nest also incorporates passive solar technologies and alternative power, heating, and cooling sources, reflecting a commitment to sustainable living. The design maximizes views and integrates the structure with the natural environment.While not regularly open for tours, Falcon's Nest remains a point of interest for those visiting Prescott, offering a glimpse into unique architectural design and sustainable living in a beautiful natural setting.
