Sedona Schnebly (born Sedona Arabella Miller) was an important pioneer in the Oak Creek area of Arizona. The town of Sedona, Arizona was named after her. She helped set up her family's farm and general store and taught at the town's bible school. She also saved money to help build the Wayside Chapel. The statue is located near the entrance of the library and serves as a landmark honoring Sedona's past.
