Getting There

• Car

  From the heart of Red Rock Country, navigate to US-89 N. Depending on your starting point, you may need to take local roads to reach US-89. Once on US-89 N, continue driving for approximately 120 miles. You will pass through scenic landscapes, including parts of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. As you approach the area, keep an eye out for the signs directing you to the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. The main entrance is located off US-89, south of Page, Arizona.

• Public Transportation

  If you are relying on public transportation, your best option is to take a shuttle or bus service from nearby cities such as Flagstaff or Phoenix to Page, Arizona. Services like Greyhound or other local bus companies may provide routes to Page. Once you arrive in Page, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area entrance, which is about 15 minutes away from the town. Make sure to check the schedules in advance, as services may not be frequent.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous travelers, cycling is an option! You can bike from Page, Arizona to the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. The route is approximately 15 miles and primarily along US-89. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring plenty of water, as the desert can be quite hot. Note that this option is best for experienced cyclists due to traffic on the highway.

• Walking

  Walking to the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is not a feasible option due to the distances involved. The area is best accessed by car, bicycle, or public transportation. If you are in Page, consider walking to local attractions, but for the recreation area, other transportation methods are necessary.
