Getting There

Walking
If you are in the heart of Sedona, start at the Sedona Visitor Center located at 331 Forest Road. From there, head east on Forest Road until you reach the intersection with 89A. Cross 89A and continue walking along the sidewalk. After about 0.5 miles, you will reach a large parking area for the trailhead. From the parking area, you will find the trailhead for Chimney Rock Trail. Follow the trail, which is well-marked, for approximately 1.5 miles. The trail is moderately steep but offers stunning views along the way. Once you reach the summit, take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding red rock formations.

Biking
Rent a bike from one of the local shops in Sedona, such as Sedona Bike & Bean. Once you have your bike, head south on 89A towards the intersection with Forest Road. Turn left on Forest Road and continue until you reach the parking area for Chimney Rock Trail. This route is approximately 2 miles and should take about 10-15 minutes by bike. After locking your bike at the parking area, follow the trail to Chimney Rock, which is about 1.5 miles from the parking area.

Use the local public bus service, Verde Lynx. Take the bus from the Sedona Public Library stop and ride it towards the 89A & 179 junction. Get off at the stop nearest to the entrance of the Chimney Rock trailhead (check the latest schedule for the exact stop). From there, it is a short walk to the trailhead. Follow the well-marked trail to Chimney Rock, which is about 1.5 miles from the trailhead.
