Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From Tempe, head to the nearest bus stop. Take Valley Metro Route 104 towards Mesa. Ride the bus until you reach the Mesa Transit Center, which is about a 30-minute ride. Then, transfer to Route 30 towards Apache Junction. Stay on the bus for approximately 40 minutes. Get off at the stop near the intersection of Apache Trail and Superstition Blvd. From there, it's a 25-minute walk to Lost Dutchman State Park. Follow Apache Trail northeast until you reach the park entrance.

  • Bicycle

    If you're comfortable riding a bicycle, you can rent one in Tempe. Start by heading east on the Arizona Canal Path. Continue along the path until you reach the intersection with S. Power Rd. Turn right and head south on Power Rd. Follow Power Rd until it intersects with Apache Trail. Turn left on Apache Trail and continue heading east for about 10 miles, which will take you directly to Lost Dutchman State Park.

    If you are up for a long walk, start from downtown Tempe. Head north on Mill Ave until you reach the light rail station. Take the light rail towards Mesa and get off at the Mesa Arts Center stop. From there, walk to the nearest bus stop and take Valley Metro Route 30 towards Apache Junction. After about 40 minutes, get off at the stop near Apache Trail and Superstition Blvd. Walk northeast on Apache Trail for about 1.5 miles to reach Lost Dutchman State Park.
