Public Transportation
From downtown Tempe, take the Valley Metro Light Rail at the Tempe Transportation Center. Board the light rail heading north towards the 'Mesa Dr/Main St' station. Ride for about 15 minutes until you reach the 'McClintock Dr/Apache Blvd' stop. Transfer to Bus Route 80 towards 'Scottsdale' and ride for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Scottsdale Rd & Thompson Peak Pkwy' stop. From there, you will need to walk about 1.5 miles northwest to reach the Marcus Landslide Trail. Follow the sidewalk along Thompson Peak Parkway, then turn left onto the trail entrance.
Biking
If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local shop in Tempe. Start from the Tempe Town Lake area and head north on the Rio Salado Pathway. Continue biking for about 8 miles while enjoying the scenery. Once you reach the bridge at Scottsdale Rd, cross the road and continue north until you hit the entrance to the Marcus Landslide Trail located just off Thompson Peak Parkway. Ensure to follow bike lanes and paths for safety.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to walk, start at the Tempe Marketplace and head north on Scottsdale Rd. It's about a 12-mile walk, so be prepared for a longer journey. Walk along the sidewalk, passing various shops and eateries. When you reach the intersection with Thompson Peak Parkway, turn left and follow the road until you see the entrance to the Marcus Landslide Trail on your right. This is a scenic walk, so take your time and enjoy the view along the way!
