If you are driving from the nearest major town, Payson, take AZ-87 N for about 18 miles. Turn left onto AZ-260 W and continue for approximately 12 miles. Turn right onto Forest Road 10 (also known as Houston Mesa Road) and follow it for about 8 miles until you reach the Bob Bear Trailhead. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for unpaved roads as some parts may be rough.
Public Transportation + Car
Take a Greyhound or local bus service to Payson, AZ. From the bus station, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the Bob Bear Trailhead, as public transport is limited in this area. Ensure to communicate your destination clearly to the driver.
