    From downtown Jonesboro, head east on E Washington Ave, then turn right onto S Caraway Rd. Continue south for approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto E Lawson Rd. The Nature Center will be on your right in about a mile. Parking is free and plentiful.

    If already in Craighead Forest Park, follow the connecting trails south to reach the Nature Center. The trails are well-marked, and the walk is approximately 2 miles. Be prepared for varying terrain.

Opened in 2004, this 17,033-square-foot facility sits on 160 acres on the southern edge of Jonesboro, adjoining Craighead Forest Park. Inside, explore interactive exhibits detailing the formation of the 200-mile-long Crowley's Ridge and its diverse wildlife. A two-story diorama showcases the effects of a thunderstorm on the ridge ecosystem. Watch films like 'Arkansas on the Wild Side' and 'Crowley's Ridge' in the auditorium. The 'Crow's Nest' on the upper level provides panoramic views of the ridge and surrounding Delta. The lower level features a hands-on discovery room with aquariums and animal habitats. Outside, stroll the quarter-mile, universally accessible Habitats Trail around Willow Pond, observing native plants and wildlife in various habitats. Venture further on trails connecting to Craighead Forest Park, exploring ridgetops and ravines. The center also hosts monthly outdoor skills workshops and educational programs.
