Discover more about Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway

The Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway (ES&NA) offers a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience the golden age of rail travel. Established in 1981 by Robert Dortch, Jr. and his wife Mary Jane, the railway operates on a restored 2.5-mile section of the original Arkansas & Ozarks Railway. The ES&NA is located at 299 N Main St in a historic stone depot built in 1913. The depot itself is a treasure trove of railway artifacts, including vintage locomotives, passenger cars, and early gas-powered tractors. A working turntable, originally used in Fort Smith, Arkansas, adds to the immersive experience. Visitors can choose from several train rides, each offering a distinct experience. The narrated Excursion Train provides insights into the region's railroad history and the picturesque Ozark landscape. For a more indulgent experience, the Luncheon and Dinner Trains combine gourmet cuisine with the rhythmic sounds of the rails. The Dinner Train is a romantic offering, with white linen-covered tables and fresh flowers atop each table. The railway's history dates back to 1882 when the Eureka Springs Railway was established to connect Eureka Springs with the St. Louis and San Francisco Railway. Over the years, the line underwent several name changes and expansions before ceasing operations in 1961. The current ES&NA revives a portion of this historic line, offering a nostalgic glimpse into America's railroad heritage. The Eureka Springs Railroad site is home to the largest collections of antique train equipment in Arkansas.
