Discover more about Terra Studios

Terra Studios is a unique and enchanting art environment located in the Ozark Mountains near Fayetteville, Arkansas. Founded in 1975 by Leo and Rita Ward, along with their son John, the studio initially focused on glass and pottery. Leo was a master glass craftsman, while Rita excelled as a potter and sculptor. Over time, Terra Studios blossomed into a whimsical six-acre art park filled with colorful sculptures, murals, and art installations created by over 200 artists. The studio gained renown for Leo Ward's "Bluebird of Happiness," a small, hand-molded glass bird that became incredibly popular. More than 8 million Bluebirds were produced, leading to the expansion of Terra Studios to include galleries and more artists. Although production of the original Bluebird ceased in 2020, a Bluebird Museum preserves their legacy. Visitors can explore the park's labyrinth, discover hidden gems, and admire the sparkling glasswork. Highlights include the Wizard's Cave, a charming structure housing crafted creatures and dazzling glasswork, and the Terra Studios Labyrinth, constructed using Weddington limestone. The gallery showcases artwork by over 120 regional artists, including pottery, glasswork, jewelry, and more. On Sundays, local musicians perform acoustic tunes. Terra Studios is a non-profit organization with the mission of using art to create a better world.
