Getting There

• Car

  From the center of Delta, head east on AR-1 S. Continue on AR-1 S for approximately 20 miles until you reach the junction with US-63 S. Merge onto US-63 S and continue for about 10 miles. Take the exit toward AR-25 S/Powhatan. Merge onto AR-25 S, and the Lake Charles State Park entrance will be on your left after approximately 5 miles. The park address is 3705 AR-25, Powhatan, AR 72458.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, first take a bus from Delta to Jonesboro. From Jonesboro, you will need to catch a Greyhound or a local bus that goes to Pocahontas. Once in Pocahontas, you may need to use a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) or a taxi to reach Lake Charles State Park, which is about 10 miles away from Pocahontas. Be sure to check the schedules and availability, as public transport can be limited.

• Biking

  For adventurous travelers, biking from Delta can be an option. Start on AR-1 S and then connect to US-63 S. After about 30 miles of biking, take the AR-25 S exit toward Powhatan. The ride is scenic but be prepared for some stretches of road without bike lanes. Ensure your bike is in good condition and you have all necessary gear, including a helmet and water.

• Walking

  Walking to Lake Charles State Park from Delta is not recommended due to the distance (over 30 miles) and the lack of pedestrian paths along major highways. If you are within a few miles of the park, ensure you have proper footwear and supplies, but consider other transportation options for a safer and quicker journey.
