Getting There

  • Driving

    To reach High Point Trailhead from Paris, Arkansas, head south on AR-309 (Mount Magazine Scenic Byway) for approximately 16 miles. Once inside Mount Magazine State Park, follow the signs for Mt Magazine Rd. The trailhead is located off Mt Magazine Rd. Parking is available near the trailhead. Be aware that traffic from the south (Havana) on AR-309 may be restricted to one lane due to road repairs; large vehicles and trailers should proceed with caution or use the northern route from Paris. Parking is free.

    From the Mount Magazine State Park Visitor Center, follow the paved road towards the Greenfield Picnic Area. Continue past the picnic area, and turn left onto Mt Magazine Rd. The High Point Trailhead will be a short distance down the road. The walk is approximately 0.5 miles and should take about 10-15 minutes.
