Discover more about Murray Park

Murray Park, located at 5900 Rebsamen Park Road in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a stunning natural oasis inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of the outdoors. Covering 166 acres, this large urban park boasts lush landscapes, serene walking trails, and ample recreational facilities, making it an ideal spot for families, couples, and solo adventurers. The park was developed in 1976 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, downstream from the Murray Lock and Dam. Extensive site preparation was required to construct the recreation facilities from the Arkansas River behind a protective rock revetment. Today, Murray Park is a vibrant hub for leisure and recreation. It is well-equipped with picnic areas, eight pavilions (available for rent), three soccer fields, two playgrounds (including a handicap-accessible one with adaptive swings), nine sand volleyball courts, fishing piers, and a boat launch. The newest playground includes a large cable-climbing course with a trampoline in the middle. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the diverse flora and fauna, as well as the scenic views along the Arkansas River. Deer and geese are often spotted in the park. One of the park's highlights is its extensive network of trails, perfect for walking, jogging, or biking, allowing guests to explore the park's natural beauty at their own pace. The Arkansas River Trail also winds through the park. Possibly the most popular feature of Murray Park is the dog park. There are two-fenced areas for dogs. The off-leash park for larger dogs includes water tubs, picnic tables, and benches. It’s great for summer days because the 2-acre park stays mostly shaded under several large trees. Murray Park hosts various events throughout the year, fostering a sense of community and offering visitors a chance to engage with local culture. Whether you're looking to unwind with a book on the grass, enjoy a family picnic, or partake in outdoor sports, Murray Park offers a welcoming environment for all.
