Craighead Forest Park, a true gem in Jonesboro, Arkansas, offers a diverse landscape and a rich history. In 1937, the Jonesboro Young Men's Civic Club initiated the park's development by constructing a levee and creating a 60-acre lake for public enjoyment. This lake, along with over 600 acres of surrounding forest land, was later donated to the city, establishing the area as Arkansas' only municipally-owned recreational forest. The park provides a wide array of activities, ensuring there's something for everyone. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy an outdoor basketball court, a volleyball court, and open spaces for soccer, football, and baseball.
