Getting There

Car
If you're traveling by car, begin your journey from the town of Ashtarak in Aragatsotn. Head south on the M1 highway for about 22 kilometers. Look for the signs directing you towards Mount Aragats. You will eventually take a left turn onto a smaller road leading directly to the mountain area. The road will gradually ascend, and you may encounter some rough patches, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for mountainous terrains. The final stretch will lead you to the parking area at the foot of Mount Aragats. There is no entrance fee for the national park.

Public Transportation
To reach Mount Aragats using public transportation, first make your way to the main bus station in Yerevan. From there, take a marshrutka (minibus) heading to Ashtarak. This trip will cost around 300-500 AMD and usually takes about 30 minutes. Once in Ashtarak, you can catch a taxi or find another marshrutka that goes towards the mountain. Agree on a fare before getting into a taxi; it should typically cost around 2000-3000 AMD to reach the base of Mount Aragats.
