Getting There

Car
From Armavir, head east on the M2 highway towards Yerevan. Continue for about 20 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for the M1 highway. Take the exit towards Garni and Geghard. Follow the signs for Geghard Monastery, which will lead you onto a scenic road through the mountains. The monastery is located at the coordinates 40.1404412, 44.8185299. There is no entrance fee for the monastery itself.

Public Transportation
From Armavir, take a marshrutka (minibus) towards Yerevan. You can catch one from the main bus station. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Garni stop. From there, you will need to catch another marshrutka heading to Geghard (they are usually waiting near the Garni stop). The total cost should be around 500 AMD for the first leg and 300 AMD for the second leg. Once at Geghard, follow the signs to the monastery, which is a short walk from the bus stop.

If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Armavir to Geghard Monastery. You can negotiate the fare, which should be around 3000-5000 AMD depending on the driver and the time of day. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Make sure to confirm the return trip if you plan to come back to Armavir.
