Trchkan Waterfall, also known as Chichkhan Waterfall, is Armenia's highest waterfall, cascading 23.5 meters (77 feet) down the Chichkhan River. Its name, meaning 'jumping' in Armenian, comes from the trout that leap upstream during spawning season. A beautiful natural monument, Trchkan is a popular destination for nature lovers and photographers.

Public Transport
From Gyumri, take a public bus from the main bus station on Vardanants Street towards Dzorashen or nearby villages. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once in Dzorashen, it's about a 15-minute walk to Trchkan Waterfall. Ask the driver to drop you off near W487+MR9, then follow the path towards the waterfall. A one-way bus fare is approximately 200-300 AMD.
Taxi
From Gyumri, a taxi to Trchkan Waterfall is a convenient option. The drive takes approximately 1 hour. Ask the taxi driver to take you to Trchkan Waterfall near Dzorashen. The approximate cost is 4000 AMD.
Walking
From the central square in Aparan, walk east on Vardanyan Street, then left onto Tigran Mets Street towards the bus station. Look for a minibus or shared taxi to Dzorashen. The ride is about 30 minutes. Get off near W487+MR9 in Dzorashen and walk uphill for 10 minutes to Trchkan Waterfall. The minibus fare is inexpensive.
