Lmbatavank Monastery, also known as St. Stepanos Church, is located on a hillside near Artik in the Shirak Province of Armenia. This architectural masterpiece, dating back to the 6th-7th centuries, stands as a testament to Armenia's enduring cultural and spiritual legacy. The monastery is built from smooth-hewn tufa stone and features a unique cross-dome design with an octagonal drum.Inside the church, visitors can marvel at the fragments of well-preserved 7th-century frescoes, which offer a glimpse into early Christian Armenian art. The frescoes depict biblical scenes, including an interpretation of the "Ascension" based on the prophet Ezekiel's vision. Jesus Christ is portrayed surrounded by divine symbols and tongues of flame, with the pedestal of his throne adorned with pearls.Lmbatavank provides a tranquil atmosphere, inviting visitors to wander through its ancient corridors and soak in the peaceful surroundings.
