Getting There

  • Car

    To get to Sevanavank from Haghartsin Monastery by car, start by heading south on the main road from the monastery. Continue straight for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the M4 highway. Turn left onto the M4 highway and continue for about 25 kilometers. You will pass through the town of Sevan. Look for the signs directing you to Sevanavank, which is located on the peninsula in Lake Sevan. The total drive should take around 45 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

  • Public Transportation

    If you prefer to take public transportation, you will first need to get to the nearest town, which is Dilijan. From Haghartsin Monastery, walk to the main road where you can catch a minibus (marshrutka) heading to Dilijan. The ride should take about 20 minutes. Once in Dilijan, you will need to transfer to another minibus heading to Sevan. The journey from Dilijan to Sevan takes approximately 30 minutes. After arriving in Sevan, ask for directions to Sevanavank, which is about a 10-15 minute taxi ride or a 30-minute walk from the minibus stop. Be prepared to pay for the taxi, which should cost around 2000-3000 AMD (Armenian Dram).
