Outer Portico-Post Travel Guide

The Outer Portico-Post is part of the Erebuni Fortress, a historical site founded by Urartian King Argishti I in 782 BC. The fortress was constructed on Arin-Berd hill, providing a strategic vantage point over the Arax River Valley. Erebuni served as a military stronghold to protect the kingdom's northern borders and is considered the origin of modern-day Yerevan.Today, visitors can explore the excavated ruins of the fortress, including the Outer Portico-Post, which features remnants of grand halls, columns, and ancient inscriptions.
