If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Vanadzor, which is a common base for exploring Lori Highlands. From Vanadzor, take the M6 highway heading north towards Haghpat. After approximately 20 kilometers, keep an eye out for signs directing you to Haghpat Village. Once you enter the village, follow the signs leading to the Haghpat Monastery Complex. The monastery is about 2 kilometers from the village center. There is a parking area available near the monastery, and no parking fees are required.

For those opting for public transportation, begin your journey by taking a bus or marshrutka (minibus) from Vanadzor to Haghpat. The bus station in Vanadzor is located near the city center. Buses to Haghpat run regularly throughout the day, and the fare is approximately 500 AMD (about $1.30). The journey takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Haghpat, you will need to walk approximately 2 kilometers to reach the monastery complex, following the signs or asking locals for directions.
