Car
If you are driving, start from the town of Vanadzor in the Lori Highlands. Head south on the A1 highway for approximately 30 kilometers. Continue on this road until you reach the junction for Noravank Monastery Road (Норава́нк) on your left. Turn onto Noravank Monastery Rd and follow the signs for about 10 kilometers. The beautiful scenery will accompany you as you approach the monastery, which is located at the end of the road. Parking is available near the site, but be mindful of any parking fees, which may apply.
Public Transportation
To reach Noravank using public transportation, start by taking a marshrutka (shared minibus) from Vanadzor to the town of Sisian. These marshrutkas leave regularly from the Vanadzor bus station. The ride will take approximately 1.5 hours. Once in Sisian, you can take another marshrutka heading to Noravank. Note that this service may not be as frequent, so check the schedule in advance. The ride should take around 30 minutes. After arriving at the Noravank drop-off point, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the monastery, which is about a 15-20 minute walk from the drop-off location. Be prepared to pay for both marshrutka rides, typically around 1,000 AMD each.
