Getting There

  • Walking

    From the village of Gosh or Goshavank Monastery, follow the marked trails southwest into Dilijan National Park. The hike to Lake Gosh is approximately 4.2 km and takes around 3 hours, including the return trip. Be mindful of trail conditions and wear appropriate footwear. There are no entrance fees to access the park or the lake.

    From Dilijan city center, a taxi to the village of Gosh or directly to a closer access point to Lake Gosh can be arranged. The ride to Gosh village is approximately 20-30 minutes. From there, follow the walking guidance. A taxi ride will cost approximately 1500-2500 AMD. Note that road access closer to the lake may require a 4x4 vehicle.

The lake itself is relatively small, with a length of 100 meters and a width of 80 meters, and a depth of 8 meters. The water temperature remains a cool 14°C even during the summer months. The lake is home to a variety of wildlife, including frogs, crayfish, and small fish. The surrounding area also features interesting rock formations and mineral springs.Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Gosh throughout the year, with each season offering a unique charm. The high season in Armenia extends from March to late autumn, with generally mild weather. The forests surrounding the lake are especially vibrant in early autumn.
