From Yerevan, take a marshrutka (minibus) from the Kilikia Central Bus Station towards Vanadzor. Inform the driver you wish to stop at the Armenian Alphabet Monument in Artashavan. The journey is approximately 40 minutes, and while the full fare to Vanadzor may be charged (around 1200 AMD), the driver will drop you off on the highway near the monument. From the highway, the monument is clearly visible.

Created in 2005 by architect Jim Torosyan, the monument marks the 1600th anniversary of the invention of the Armenian alphabet by Mesrop Mashtots in 405 AD. This alphabet was crucial for translating the Bible and spreading Christianity in Armenia, marking the 5th century as the "Golden Age of Armenia".The monument features 39 giant, intricately carved stone letters, each representing a character in the Armenian alphabet.
