If driving, start from Vanadzor, the nearest major city. Take the M6 highway north towards Alaverdi. After about 26 km, exit towards Dsegh village. Follow the signs for about 6 km until you reach the parking area near the Surb Hovhannes Monastery Complex. Be aware that the road can be narrow and winding in sections, so drive carefully.
Public Transport
To reach the Surb Hovhannes Monastery Complex via public transport, first take a marshrutka (minibus) from Vanadzor to Alaverdi. The fare is around 300 AMD ($0.75). From Alaverdi, take another marshrutka or a taxi to Dsegh village. From Dsegh, it's about a 6 km hike, or you can hire a taxi to take you directly to the monastery. Be prepared for a short walk.

From Vanadzor to Dsegh, a taxi may cost around 3,000-5,000 AMD. From Dsegh to the monastery, negotiate a fare, likely around 1,000-2,000 AMD, depending on the distance and road conditions.
