The waterfall, also called Chichkhan Waterfall, is the tallest in Armenia, with a vertical drop of 23 meters. The name 'Trchkan' translates to 'jumping' in Armenian, inspired by the unique sight of trout leaping over the falls during their upstream migration to spawn.
