From Yeghegis Village, drive towards the southern exit of the village on the main road. Continue straight for approximately 7 kilometers. You will see signs for Arates Monastery along the way. The monastery is situated on a hilltop, so be prepared for a small incline as you approach. Look for a dirt road that leads up to the monastery; there is a small parking area available near the entrance.

Public Transportation
From Yeghegis Village, you can take a local minibus (marshrutka) heading towards Vayk. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to Arates Monastery. The drop-off point is usually about 2 kilometers from the monastery entrance. From there, you can either walk along the dirt path leading up to the monastery, which takes approximately 30 minutes, or hitch a ride if any locals are passing by.

If you prefer to walk from Yeghegis Village, head south on the main road and follow the signs toward Arates Monastery. The walk is about 7 kilometers and will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Be prepared for some elevation gain as you approach the monastery, and ensure you have comfortable walking shoes. Bring plenty of water, especially during warmer months.
