Tranvia Aruba: A Charming Ride Through Oranjestad

The Tranvia Aruba is more than just a mode of transportation; it's an immersive experience that invites guests to connect with the island's spirit. Inaugurated on December 22, 2012, the Tranvia stands as the first and only passenger rail service in both Aruba and the Dutch Caribbean. The tram primarily serves cruise passengers seeking transport from the port to the city center. The 1.9 km single-track line runs from Plaza Welcome to Plaza Comercio. The fleet comprises four heritage-style trams, designed and built by TIG/m Modern Street Railways in California. These trams are powered by lithium batteries augmented with hydrogen fuel cells, eliminating the need for overhead wires and feature regenerative braking systems.
