Arikok National Park, established in 2000, is a natural treasure spanning approximately 7,907 acres (32 sq km) in northeastern Aruba. It stands as a testament to Aruba's commitment to preserving its unique biodiversity, geological formations, and historical and cultural significance. The park boasts three primary geological formations: the Aruba lava formation, the Aruba Batholith, and limestone terraces. These formations create a diverse landscape of rugged hills, mysterious rocks, and coastal formations. Arikok is also home to diverse flora and fauna, including endemic species like the Aruban whiptail lizard and the Aruban burrowing owl, known as 'Shoco,' Aruba's national bird. The park's varied landscapes range from arid regions to coastlines, providing habitats for a wide array of wildlife. Historical sites within the park tell the story of Aruba's past.
