Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Noord, head south towards the main road (L.G. Smith Boulevard). Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with the road leading to the airport. Turn left onto the road and follow it until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit to stay on the road, which will lead you through the Barcadera area. As you approach Balashi, keep an eye out for signs indicating 'Balashi Gold Mills.' The landmark will be located on your right side. The total walking distance is approximately 4.5 kilometers and may take around 1 hour.

  From your location in Noord, walk to the nearest bus stop along L.G. Smith Boulevard. Board a bus heading towards Oranjestad. Ensure to ask the driver to let you know when to get off at the stop closest to Balashi. The bus ride should take about 15-20 minutes. Once you get off, walk in the direction of the Balashi Gold Mills, which is a short 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Look for the signs that direct you to the historical landmark.

Continue straight until you reach the roundabout and take the second exit to stay on the road leading towards Balashi. It's approximately a 4.5-kilometer ride, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. Once you reach Balashi, park your bike at the nearest designated area and walk to the Balashi Gold Mills.
