    Public Transport

    From the main bus terminal in Oranjestad, take the Arubus Route L10b towards Palm Beach. The bus departs every 5 minutes and the ride to the Divi Phoenix stop takes approximately 13 minutes. From there, walk a short distance to the Bubali Bird Sanctuary. The bus fare is approximately $3 USD.

    Car

    From Eagle Beach, head north on J.E. Irausquin Blvd towards the roundabout. Take the second exit onto L.G. Smith Blvd (Route 1) heading toward Noord. Continue on L.G. Smith Blvd for about 3.5 km. Look for signs indicating Bubali Bird Sanctuary, and turn left onto Bubali Rd. The sanctuary entrance will be on your right. Parking is available nearby and is free.

    The Bubali Bird Sanctuary is a serene haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers visiting Aruba. Established in 1980, this protected area spans approximately 20 hectares and features interconnected man-made lakes, initially created as part of a wastewater treatment facility. These wetlands have become a lush oasis, attracting a diverse array of migratory and resident bird species.The sanctuary is home to over 80 species of birds, including herons, egrets, gulls, skimmers, coots, and ducks. Depending on the time of year, visitors can spot black-necked stilts, Bahamian pintails, lapwings, troupials, Caribbean parakeets, moorhens, coots, green herons, and egrets. The desert scrub vegetation along the seaward side provides habitat for nesting white-tailed nightjars, yellow warblers, burrowing owls, ruby-topaz hummingbirds, eared and common ground doves, and bananaquits.Visitors can explore the sanctuary via well-maintained trails and viewing platforms. The observation tower on the north side offers panoramic views of the landscape, allowing for excellent birdwatching opportunities. Informative signs are placed throughout the area, providing insights into the different species and the ecological significance of the sanctuary. The sanctuary is easily accessible and provides a peaceful retreat from the bustling beaches of Aruba.
