    Discover more about Fofoti Tree

The Fofoti Tree is an iconic symbol of Aruba, gracing the shores of Eagle Beach with its unique, windswept silhouette. Often mistaken for the Divi-Divi tree, the Fofoti (Conocarpus erectus) is a mangrove species that thrives in the island's coastal conditions. Its distinctive shape, leaning southwest due to the constant trade winds, has made it a favorite subject for photographers and a symbol of Aruba's resilience. Eagle Beach, renowned for its pristine white sands and turquoise waters, provides the perfect backdrop for the Fofoti Tree. Visitors flock to capture the tree's beauty, especially during sunrise and sunset when the sky is ablaze with color. The tree offers shade and a tranquil environment for relaxation, inviting visitors to connect with nature. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Fofoti Tree holds cultural significance. The island's indigenous Arawak people used the tree for medicinal purposes and as a building material. Today, the Fofoti Tree is protected by law, ensuring its preservation for future generations. While Eagle Beach is home to the most famous Fofoti trees, they can also be found in other locations around Aruba, including the Malmok area, Linear Park in Oranjestad, and Baby Beach. Whether you're a nature lover, a photography enthusiast, or simply seeking a peaceful escape, a visit to the Fofoti Tree is an essential Aruban experience.
