Grapefield Beach: Aruba's Rugged Coastal Escape

Grapefield Beach presents a different side of Aruba, one characterized by its raw beauty and tranquility. Situated on the island's eastern coast, just north of Boca Grandi, this secluded beach offers a respite from the bustling tourist areas. Here, the landscape is more rugged, with stronger waves and a wild, untouched feel. The beach itself is a mix of soft, white sand interspersed with rocks and driftwood, adding to its natural charm. While swimming isn't recommended due to the strong currents and trade winds, Grapefield Beach is a haven for experienced kite surfers who come to take advantage of the consistent winds. The beach is also ideal for peaceful walks, beachcombing, and simply enjoying the open ocean views. In the past, the beach was known for its sea grape plants, from which it derives its name. Although these plants have mostly vanished, there's still a chance to spot some and perhaps even find grapes to enjoy. You might also spot some wooden shacks used by surfers. Be sure to bring everything you need, as there are no facilities available.
