Discover more about Sero Colorado Lighthouse

Sero Colorado Lighthouse, or Colorado Point Lighthouse, is one of Aruba's two active lighthouses, marking the island's southeastern point. Erected in 1881, it replaced an earlier, inadequate wooden structure. The original tower was built with a stone upward rectangular design in combination with wood. Today, a metal tower stands in its place. While the lighthouse itself isn't particularly known for its design and is not open to the public , the surrounding area offers a unique experience. Visitors can enjoy quiet surroundings and spectacular views. The lighthouse's beacon, shielded by a wire cage, has a focal height of 51 meters (167 ft), visible for 21 nautical miles. Around Colorado Point, remnants of military defense zones and bunkers from World War II can be seen, a reminder of when over a thousand American soldiers defended the oil refinery, once among the world's largest. The area's rugged coastline and crashing waves provide excellent photo opportunities, especially at sunset.
