Discover more about Sero Colorado Lighthouse

Sero Colorado Lighthouse, or Colorado Point Lighthouse, is perched on the southeastern coast of Aruba, near San Nicolas. This active lighthouse has guided ships safely for decades. The current lighthouse isn't the original structure. The first lighthouse, built in 1881, was made of stone and wood. Due to its inadequate coastal lighting, it was replaced with a stone tower and electric lighting in 1925. Today, the lighthouse features an 8-meter-high tower with a light shielded by a wire cage. Its light, 51 meters above sea level, can be seen for 21 nautical miles. While the lighthouse itself is not accessible to the public, the site offers panoramic views and a sense of tranquility. The surrounding area, known as Seroe Colorado, was once a mining site for guano and later housed American soldiers during World War II. Exploring the area reveals remnants of military defense zones and bunkers. Nearby attractions include Baby Beach, the red anchor monument, and the artistic murals of San Nicolas. Visiting during sunset provides the most breathtaking views and photo opportunities.
