Tres Trapi Beach: Aruba's Hidden Snorkeling Gem

Tres Trapi Beach, located north of Palm Beach between Boca Catalina and Malmok Beach, is a unique snorkeling and scuba diving spot that captures the essence of the Caribbean. The name "Tres Trapi" translates to "three steps" in Papiamento, referring to the steps carved into the coral to provide access to the water. While originally three steps, there are now about six, so be cautious as you enter the water, as the stairs can be a bit slippery. Water shoes are recommended. Tres Trapi isn't a typical sandy beach for sunbathing. Instead, it's known for its rocky shoreline and vibrant marine life. The clear waters make it an ideal location for snorkeling, offering the chance to see sea turtles, colorful fish, and starfish. Snorkelers often spot gold-spotted eels, barracudas, and stingrays. For the best chance of seeing turtles, visit early in the morning, between 6 AM and 11 AM, as they tend to swim to deeper waters around midday. Convenient parking is available near Tres Trapi, and the beach is accessible by bus. Despite its limited amenities, Tres Trapi's natural beauty and abundant sea life make it a must-visit destination for snorkelers and nature lovers.
